CITATION:

Military Medal : On 27th March 1944 during an attack on a Japanese prepared position, the section to which Rifleman BAHADUR THAPA belonged was held up by intense grenade and L.M.G. fire. On seeing this Rifleman Bahadur Thapa disregarding personal danger rushed forward firing his LMG from the hip, jumped into the enemy trench and killed four of the enemy in a L.M.G. post. By this prompt action action, he neutralised the enemy LMG and this enabled his section to continue the advance. Throughout the action he set an example of clear thinking and cool courage.
