Bryan Beiriger was born on June 27, 1969, in Hastings, Nebraska, and he grew up outside of Houston in Spring, Texas. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 1988, and graduated from basic training at NTC Orlando, Florida, in October 1988. Beiriger then attended "A" School from October 1988 to April 1989, followed by Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training from March 1989 to March 1990. His first assignment was with SEAL Team THREE at NAB Coronado, California, from July 1990 to May 1997, followed by service as an Air Operations Instructor with the Naval Special Warfare Center at NAB Coronado from June 1997 to July 2000. Petty Officer Beiriger then returned to SEAL Team THREE as Leading Petty Officer of Hotel Platoon from July 2000 to June 2001. He then joined the newly created SEAL Team SEVEN at NAB Coronado in June 2001, becoming a Plank Owner upon its activation in March 2002. Chief Beiriger served as Leading Chief Petty Officer of Foxtrot Platoon with SEAL Team SEVEN from June 2001 to June 2004, followed by service as the SEAL West Coast detailer for sailors at ranks of E-6 and below at Millington, Tennessee, from June 2004 to July 2007. Master Chief Beiriger served as Two Troop Senior Enlisted Advisor with SEAL Team SEVEN at NAB Coronado from August 2007 to November 2009, and then as Master Chief for Naval Special Warfare Training Detachment ONE at NAB Coronado from November 2009 to April 2011. His next assignment was as Officer in Charge of the Naval Special Warfare Preparatory School at NTC Great Lakes, Illinois, from April 2011 to July 2013, followed by service as Command Master Chief of SEAL Team ONE at NAB Coronado from July 2013 to January 2015. His final assignment was as Command Master Chief of Training Detachment ONE at NAB Coronado from March 2015 until his death on active duty on October 23, 2015. Master Chief Beiriger has a cenotaph at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California, and his ashes were spread at sea off the coast of Coronado, California.
