Some corrections and additions to this bio.

  • Born 1897. He is listed in GRO Consular Deaths Index for 1955-1960, age 63. Hence 1897 inferred from date of death 1860. This concurs with other family sources, currently no official record available (probably born Moscow).
  • Number. 115076. From numerous reports in London Gazetter 1939-1948.
  • Appointment. Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG). London Gazette, 12 June 1947.
