I lived with Gerry, Pauline and Lesley, at 17 Lansdowne Ave, Slough, from early Spring 1959, for about 9 months( with 7 other single young men( I was 19). Gerry served us coffee after dinner, always with a joke and a smile. I had the pleasure of re-reading his signed copy of “The Dambusters”. A man who left a mark of compassion on me. I’m now 83. He is an example of individual, now missing in today’s society.
