Good day everyone.
I am currently compiling (along with Jack Valenti) a nominal roll of all guardsmen who served with the LRDG during the North African campaign, and am intrigued to see mention here of WW Sutherland's connection. I have been researching for 20 years plus and this is the only reference to Guardsman Sutherland that I have seen, so am keen to see the source reference in the above referenced 'History of the Scots Guards'.
The same question arises with regard to Guardsman Alexander Milroy.

Would anyone have access to this book and be able to share the entries for Guardsmen Sutherland and Milroy?

Both of these men received the MM for 'escape and evasion' after their capture in June 1942 when serving with their parent battalion. The last LRDG nominal roll is dated 31 Aug 41, so the window of opportunity is relatively short.

Many thanks in hope.

Ian
