CITATION:

Mention In Despatches : For bravery and skill for the part they played in a daring enterprise when a party in two canoes loaded with explosives penetrated fifty miles up the Gironde river. They set out on the night of 7th December, 1942, to attach limpet mines to enemy ships lying alongside at Bordeaux. These two ranks failed to return but it is known that their share in the operation was entirely successful
