CITATION:

Bronze Star (USA) : Capt William Adam, while serving as a special liaison officer from 21st Army Gp, British Army, to HQ XX Corps, Third U.S. Army distinguished himself by meritorious achievement in connection with military operations against the enemy, in France, Germany and Austria from 8 August 1944 to 9 May 1945. Throughout the long and bitter march through France and into Germay and Austria, Capt Adam accurately furnished full information on the dispositions of the British forces. In addition he provided a great deal of information relative to other U.S. troops, such information being invaluable in the daily briefing of the Commanding General, XX Corps and his senior staff officers. The conscientious, cooperative, and courteous performance of duty by Capt Adam reflects the highest credit to the British Army.

PROPOSED CITATION
William Adam, Captain, British Army, 21st Army Group. For meritorious achievement in connection with military operations against the enemy, in France, Germany and Austria from 8 August 1944 to 9 May 1945. Captain Adam locally and conspicuously fulfilled his duties as a special liaison officer for the British Army. At all time he was able to furnish full and complete information on the disposition of the British forces. In addition, Captain Adam provided a great deal of information relative to other United States troops and his reports were regularly included in the daily briefing of the Commanding General, XX Corps, and his senior staff officers.
