CITATION:

Military Cross : This Officer has served in6 (RM) Cdo throughout operations in NORMANDY, HOLLAND and GERMANY, and has been conspicuous for his gallantry and determination. During the battle of the River RHINE he crossed in the leading wave of Buffaloes, and when his craft was hit and burst into flames, in spite of the fact that he was suffering from his wounds and burns he quickly re-organised the survivors, rejoined his troop and continued to lead his men throughout the rest of the action. He did not allow himself to be evacuated until the battle was won. Since then he has taken part in the assaults across the Rivers WESER, ALLER and ELBE, when his courage and devotion to duty has on every occasion been an inspiration to his men.
