CITATION:
Member of The Order of the British Empire : From Dec 4,, until the cessation of hostilities in the Far East, Major Andrews held the appointment of D.A.Q.M.G. in the operational stores branch of Group "A" Force 136, which entailed the supervision of the packing and despatch of all stores to Force 136 irregular forces in Burma, Sian, French Indo China and Northern Malaya.
In carrying out these duties he set an example of efficiency and tireless effort to all working with him, and the resulting support given to operations in the field contributed greatly to their success.
He has never failed to meet an emergency and has proved himself to possess capabilities far above those normally required during the course of his duties.
He is recommended for an award of the M.B.E.
