CITATION:

OBE : Major Antelme has undertaken two missions into Northern France, between 18th November 1942 and 18th March 1943, and between 20th May 1943 and 20th July 1943. He was instructed to contact certain political persons, to organise operational circuits, and to make arrangements for local supplies for invading troops.

Major Antelme built up valuable circuits in the Troyes and Le Mans areas, where later used to advantage by another organiser following him.

In the organisation of his circuits and plans, Major Antelme showed himself possessed of a devotion to duty of a high order, and displayed organisational ability above the average. Towards the end of his second visit the Gestapo were on his trail and it was only due to the excellence of his earlier work and his own resourcefulness that he effected his escape.
