CITATION:

Officer of the Order of the British Empire : This officer of the Long Range Desert Patrol, Col BAGNOLD has rendered excellent service to the British cause. He has proved himself a fine leader an inspiration to the patrols. He has worked hard and loyally, the fact that for many month the patrol were not in the lime light must no be allowed to counteract their great value. In my opinion Col GAGNOLD thoroughly deserves an honour.
