CAPT BALL WAS MY M.T.O. IN BERLIN IN THE 70s I FOUND HIM TO BE ONE OF THE MOST HONEST MEN I HAVE EVER SERVED UNDER.I WAS VERY SAD TO FIND OUT HE WAS NO LONGER WITH US. ONCE A BORDERER ALWAYS A BORDERER.

Capt Ball was my platoon officer in the recce when he first came to the KOSB 1971 and I served under him for the next 2 year , doing two trips in Belfast were he was awarded the MC. He was the best office that I ever came across and I also was sad to hear of is passing. ONCE A BORDERER ALWAYS A BORDERER ...GOD Bless him

Served under Tony in the Det. A great leader and a fine man, great sense of humour. Gone but not forgotten

It was a great shock to me when I found out that Tony had died in a car accident. We undertook selection course together after which we served in D Squadron together. We were close friends. I wish that I had kept in touch with him after leaving the Regiment.

I served with Tony during his time at 8 Bd.We first came into contact when i drew him as my opponent in selection milling and remained on good terms throughout our time together.A good boss and officer fondly remembered by me.

Tony, was PATA OC and was my training Major through selection He was then OC 14. He was without doubt the best officer I have had the privilege to work with. I still have his order of service on my mantle piece with others.

Great man.

Brian

I was also on that Selection course with Tony and Ron. Good to see all the comments about Tony here from lads who served with him.
