CITATION:

Military Medal : At MUBO on 1 OCT 42. For Conspicuous Bravery and Devotion to duty.

During the raid by KANGA FORCE he advanced approx. 100 yards under fire to rescue and carry to safety Lieut. DRYSDALE who had been mortally wounded. On reaching a small party of our troops, Sjt BISHOP organised them into two parties, one to carry Lieut. DRYSDALE to safety, while he lead the others back and engaged the enemy; thus allowing the first party to gain safety, and covering Sjt O'NEILL's withdrawal.
