CITATION:

Member of the Order of the British Empire : Captain Coke is an outstanding Junior Staff officer. As Staff Captain 'A', by his foresight, knowledge and zeal, he has achieved excellent results over a wide, important and, to a marine officer, unfamilar field. He has the confidence of unit Commanding Officers and the goodwill of staff officers at higher formation HQ.

I have complete confidence that 'A' matters will be handled in an exemplary manner by him. In addition to his more normal duties he has the difficult task of reconciling Naval and Army regulations.

In handling welfare subjects he has shown untiring energy and understanding which has earned the confidence and appreciation of all ranks.

He has also found time to be a mainspring of a number of unit activities, and has spent many hours encouraging others to support games, mess and all natures of unit activity. This type of work often goes unnoticed, but is nevertheless of immense value.

He is now nearing the end of his appointment and his efforts are deserving of the highest praise and recognition.
