CITATION:

Mention in Despatches : December, 1958 - February 1959. Throughout the period of three months he has commanded a troop without an officer. On all occasions he has worked extremely hard, has set a tremendous example and extracted from his men a vast amount of work. On numerous occasions his troop has had spirited engagements with the rebels and on all occasions the troop has come off best. This is largely because of the firm grip and leadership displayed by this N.C.O.

Thanks. Its not easy, for very good reasons,to find out much about ex-SAS people. My dad got a phone call from Darkie in 1977 and hasn't heard from him since and im looking to see if i can get any whereabouts or info for any of the guys that he was in Oman with.
