Of Arlington, VA. He is survived by his wife of 58 years; three children; ten grandchildren; and one brother. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Robert Gaboury.
He attended Fairfield Prep and graduated from Warren Harding High School. He went to Fordham University on a full football scholarship, and received his MBA from Salve Regina College. Commissioned in the US Marine Corps in 1955, his service included combat in Vietnam, postings at Marine Barracks, DC, Armed Forces Staff College, CINCPAC, JCS, HQMC and Naval War College. He commanded Companies I&K, 2d RTR Bn, RTR, MCRDep, PISC. His Battallion commands were 1st Bn, 3d Mar, 1st Nar Bde and 1st Bn, 9th Mar, 3d Mar Div. He commanded the 8th Marine Regiment, 2d Mar Div, and was the Assistant Division Commander, 2d Marine Division. His decorations include the Silver Star Medal, Legion of Merit (2), Bronze Star Medal (with "V"), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Rep. of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation for Civic Action, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry (with Star), Navy Unit Commendation, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (with 3 Stars), Vietnam Campaign Medal, Rep. of Vietnam Honor Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation and Presidential Unit Citation. He retired from the USMC in 1985, and went on to be Executive Director of the Marine Corps Reserve Officers Association, as well as co-owner of L.E.G. Elegant Interiors and CEO of Service Solutions, Inc.
