Good evening. I have been looking details about my late Uncle on my fathers side Richard Fredrick Ireland and I found this. I noticed the spelling mistake, No "D" on his sir name but it is correct at the bottom of the page and on his grave stone. I went to his grave in Twickenham as a boy but my dad never said were he was actually buried. I believe he died during Operation Market Garden but I would like to know were so I can visit the location to give my respect. Thank you

I've updated to correct surname. He was buried in above cemetery. According to SAS Roll of Honour he was supposed to take part in Operation Loyton, but crew couldn't find landing spot so returned to UK where aircraft crashed near Middle Wallop airfield. Photograph of him also in SAS & LRDG Roll of Honour.

Good Evening Craig and THANK YOU so very much.

I have learnt something tonight that I wasn't expecting. It is so difficult to find information when these three words SAS are used. It now gives me more information to go forward.
I will have a look at the link above tomorrow, will that take me to where the Photograph is of Uncle Fred as dad said.
