On Thursday 26th August 2021, Ex 22 SAS Colin MacLachlan Patron of Ancre Somme Association Scotland Charity, will welcome Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant Alan Simpson OBE to Mac’s home town of Laurieston, near Falkirk to unveil a Memorial Bust that remembers Mac and indeed ALL the men and the wider team who took part in Operation Nimrod 41 years ago. This was the moment when the Public around the World would realise who were Britain’s SAS Elite Regiment. These were real men, not fictional characters. When called upon these men rescued 19 hostages. There is no doubt or argument, that men today serving with the Regiment, would do that same, when called upon. We hope that when anyone visits this Memorial in Scotland, they will think of moment the Special Air Service came out of the shadows and displayed bravery, heroism and honour for Queen & Country. May God Bless Them All. www.asascotland.org registered charity SC048597
