does this mean by the date that my great uncle died at the d day landings and not arnhem as we previously thought??????
 
We have no records on George but think the CWGC made a mistake and put 3rd Battalion when it should have been the 3rd Brigade. If so this means he was probably in the 8th or 9th Battalion. Suggest you contact the CWGC and see if they have any other information.
 
Hi Matt, your great uncle was part of the D-Day parachuting.
He was in HQ 3rd Parachute Brigade., Defence platoon.
He dropped on D-Dy night and was KIA on 7th june 1944.
I am able to tell you what happened.
