Leonard, husband of the late Wilma Jean Williams Kirk, passed away peacefully in Smyrna, GA.
He leaves a loving family of sons and daughters-in-law Dan and Ann Kirk and Mike and Connie Kirk, granddaughters Meghann Danielle Kirk, Katharine Jean Kirk and Whitney Ann Kirk Adams with husband Matthew Adams, grandsons James Tyler Kirk and Jerad Michael Kirk with wife Lindsay Ann Kirk.
He served in the US Army with Colonel Darby's 4th Ranger Battalion and was a member of the elite First Special Service Force. He received two Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal for his service in World War II.
He was a life long Baptist, having served as a deacon for 20 years in his home church in Huntington, WV and was a retired steelworker.
Graveside services will be held at 10a on Friday, June 15, 2007 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6026 N US #1 in Fort Pierce, FL.
