My mother was married to Lon. She then married another soldier from Hereford (my father). Many times my Nan and I would polish Lon’s memorial plaque. The Regiment kindly invited Lon’s mother, my mother and family to visit to commemorate his loss about 25yrs ago. A memorable experience. This webpage is a special collection. Many thanks for keeping it alive.

Hi Ron, thanks for the update. We went to the camp with Floss, around 1994-95, as I was about to do my RCB. Floss was the lady in her mobility scooter on the M4 motorway, in the newspapers, making her way to the garden centre, bless her. Lovely lady, sadly no longer with us.
My Mum is Pat (nee Taylor), who became Lonney and laterly Barnett, as she married ‘Arch the Leg’ (Adrian). Both still going strong
