Kevin Lundberg was born on May 25, 1955, in Prosser, Washington. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on January 7, 1975, and went on active duty to begin basic training on February 14, 1975. After completing basic training at NTC San Diego, California, in April 1975, Petty Officer Lundberg served at NTC San Diego and then attended Quartermaster "A" School at NTC San Diego from August to November 1975. He next attended Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training at NAB Coronado, California, from November 1975 to August 1976, followed by Naval Parachutist School at NATTC Lakehurst, New Jersey, in August and September 1976. Petty Officer Lundberg served with SEAL Team TWO at NAB Little Creek, Virginia, from September 1976 to September 1980, and then with Naval Special Warfare Group TWO at NAB Little Creek from September to October 1980. QM1 Lundberg became a plank owner with SEAL Team SIX at Dam Neck Annex, Virginia, upon its activation in October 1980, and served with the unit unit he was killed in action during Operation Urgent Fury, the Invasion of Grenada, on October 23, 1983. His remains were never recovered from the Caribbean Sea near Grenada, but he has a cenotaph at Arlington National Cemetery.
