shot down over Poland

Flight Lieutenant Gavin McCall 148 Squadron was the pilot on my father Sgt John Rae's plane Halifax JP162FS-S which was based in Brindisi, Italy on SOE. They were dropping supplies in Poland and were shot down near the village of Wojnorowa. F/L McCall ,Sgt Aspinall and my father were killed the other 4 crew baled out and with the help of Polish partisans evaded capture and eventually returned to to the UK.
I will remember with pride the crew of JP162FS-S who were so brave and gave their lives so that the people of Poland would have much need supplies.
