Silver Star : SERGEANT CHARLIE V. McCANN, 34581081, Infantry, United States Army, for gallanty in action in connection with military operations against the enemy on 6 June 1944. Thank you so much for posting this. Charlie Venton McCann was my grandfather, I was raised by my grandparents due to my parents being teenagers. My Grandaddy was a special man. He left me what few belongings he had, which include his Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart Citations. His most prized possession was a letter, which I have, that his commanding officer Lt. S.V. Parubsky had written to my great grandmother. I also have the pic you posted here as well as a pic of the entire 2nd Rangers Co A Battallion. Anyways thank you for honoring our past heroes.
