CITATION:

George Cross : Sub-Lieutenant Moore had no training in mine disposal work, but had some knowledge from working in the Admiralty. He first went out with Commander Ryan and then led a party of his own. He has dealt with 5 mines. In one of them the clock started before he could get the bomb fuse out but he coolly went on with his work, and got the fuse out in time for it to explode clear of the mine.
