I am writing a book on Operation Pistol and my fathers other war time experiences-if anyone has any oral based imformation then please contact me with details of your information. I have written three quarters of the book so far. I am particularly looking for details about Pistol that might be held in families memories. I have visited the Pistol area several times and know it well. I hope to publish the book in the new year.
I have now written about 140,000 words and am near the end. On my trips to France so far I have found a small piece of my father's parachute and one of my father's patrols folding butt M1 carbine-still in working order. I also met the man who stole my father's patrol radio receiver (15 years at the time) in 1944.
