At the time of his actions, Slabinski was serving with the British Special Boat Service. The British at one point were reportedly considering awarding Slabinski the Victoria Cross. Britt Slabinski also participated in the highly publicized rescue mission to recover Army PFC Jessica Lynch. In 2018 his Navy Cross was upgraded to the Medal of Honor.</span></em></p></blockquote><p></p>
