My dad was born on the 5th of April 1916 in Aston, Birmingham. His father (George, mother Agnes) also served as a regular soldier before the Great War.
They soon moved to 14 Wood street, Rugby in Warwickshire where he attended The Murray School.
On leaving school he worked as a Warehouse Clerk before joining up in 1935 in Coventry.
After he came out of the army in 1947 he married Olive Southam and lived in Leamington Spa and worked as a Bus Driver for the Midland Red until he retired.
He passed away on the 21st of October 1996.
