CITATION:

Silver Star : The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Leslie M. Ferrier (ASN: 37026758), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company F, 1st Ranger Battalion, on the early morning of 12 February 1943, in the vicinity 5 miles west of Sened Station, Tunisia. Private First Class Ferrier, charging a 40-mm. gun position with the use of hand grenades, was individually responsible for destroying the enemy gun and personnel which had held up the advance of our forces. The manner of handling the situation by the use of hand grenades, inspired confidence in other members of his group to carry out their assignments in reducing all enemy resistance in the area. Private First Class Ferrier's courage and devotion to duty is highly commendable and reflects great credit upon the command.
