Hi all

Im new to this site and must say its awesome, what got me onto the website, i brought a book today Secret Heroes 'Z' Special Unit by Gabrielle McDonald and it is autographed by the following:-

1. Jack Hinton VC
2. AKS173 VNZ422668 Sgt F.A. Wigzell
3. AK253 VNZ280669 LT R. Tapper
4. Gabrielle McDonald

My first question, is Sgt F.A Wigzell and LT R. Tapper still alive, i know Jack Hinton VC has passed but dont know much about the others.

Second question what is a book like this worth.

There are two types of worth. What is it worth to you. Probably priceless. What is the public value? Try Abe's books on the internet. You can probably find out what a copy is selling for at the present time. The public value depends upon edition (is it a first edition) and condition of the book. Have fund searching, but even more, enjoy the book.

SGT Wigzell has since passed away and I believe that LT Tapper has also left us.

In fact there is only one Kiwi Z Man who is still with us - AKS 173 Graham Greenwood who was a sig (hence the "AKS" prefix) with SRD's AGAS project in British North Borneo.

No idea on the monetary value of the book I'm afraid, so if you want to flog it off to the highest bidder, do your homework and make sure it goes to someone who appreciates its immense social and historical value. If you're not looking to profit from it, I'd consider making it a donation to the NZDF or to the Australian War Memorial.

Hi all

Thanks for the replys, some more helpful than others, im not looking at making a profit fron this book i will keep it for my collection as i have many many famous NZ Military autographs, i was just wondering what the book was worth and information on the two Z guys that had signed it.
