There is a discrepancy between this record which lists DOD as 3rd May 1944 and the Marion County Cemetary records which list date as 30 May 1944. Which date is accurate? What battle did Anthony Chontos participate in on 3rd May or 30 May resulting in his death. He was a paratrooper on Anzio.

Tony came across North Africa, landed in Naples and fought at Defensa, Hill 720/Monte Majo and Anzio until he was KIA near Artena

Anthony J. Chontos was my uncle, a brother of my mother, IRENE AGNES CHONTOS - CLINE (Married to George W. Cline of Marion, OH) both of whom were assigned to the Army Air Corps at Wright Field, Dayton, OH, where I was birthed on March 23, 1945 and resided at Army Air Corps married housing, Hebble Homes until 1952.

Many thanks to John Gahart for KIA details about my Uncle,Tony Chontos, Best Wishes!
