David Warren Cuddy My fathers name was Steve Pasztor. Lt. Cuddy was my fathers platoon leader. After Lt. Cuddy was killed and Captain Fletcher had his leg blown off by the same mortar shell my fathers section leader D.J. McLachlan moved my fathers section into a house on the germans side of the Mussolini Canal. When Major Sector asked McLachlan to please move his men back to the safety of the other side of the canal McLachlan said if the germans want this house let them try and take it! After pleading with him for several days Major Sector finally convinced S/Sgt. McLachlan to move his section back to the safety of the american side of the Mussolini Canal. Three weeks later D.J. McLachlan was killed by a german M.G. 42 machinegun while escorting 3 german prisoners deep behind enemy lines.< I can be contacted at >>> davidpasztor1957@live.com <<<<<
