He was born in Landstuhl, Germany on May 27, 1994. Derek joined the US Navy and graduated basic training on January 28, 2016 in Great Lakes, Illinois. He passed away during his SEAL training in San Diego, CA. Derek played baseball at Crestview High School and Faulkner State Community College in Bay Minette, AL. He also enjoyed any activity on the water. He is preceded in death by his mother, Katie Lovelace. Survivors include his father, James Lovelace; sisters, Lynsi Price of Ft.
