"Lt. "Mac" McKinnon and the 4 men pictured here are all that were left of the 37 original men in Babe's platoon. The 4 enlisted men were POW's taken at Anzio. Some were wounded. The arrow points to Mac and the fellow next to him was Babe's bunk buddy.. He came home on Gripsholm, Feb. 16, 1945"
