Pilot officer E Tilby.(eleven from the left, standing with cap on) This is the last known photograph of him before his lancaster NF992 was shot down over Bergen on the 12th jan 1945. He and his captain and most of the crew were never found........ Colin Powell(great nephew)

- On 08.06.44 he was a crew member of Lancaster Mk.III ND472 (O) bombing Saumur with cluster bombs
- On 27.08.44 he was in Lancaster Mk.I DV402 (K) bombing shipping in Brest
- On 11.09.44 he was in Lancaster Mk.III PB415 (S) bombing the Tirpitz.
- On 23.09.44 he was in Lancaster Mk.
