I am trying to find information with regards to the men in 17 and 71 columns of the 2nd Leicesters and of their time in the 2nd Chindit campaign.
My Great grandfather Thomas Joseph Chandler won a DCM for recovering the bodies of 5 of his Battalion during a battle on the 27th March 1944.
Any information relating to this would be much appreciated.
