CITATION:

Member of the Order of the British Empire : This officer has commanded the Improvised Signal Section during these operations and subsequently was responsible for all Base communications. He had kept as many as 6 wireless sets on the air throughout a very trying period. It has been through his energy and foresight that communications have been so excellently run and has enabled the Force to carry out its task. His Section consisted of men drawn from 5 separate units which he personally, and at very shorty notice, organized and in most instances trained in W.T.
