Burma 1944

Hello, I am currently doing some research for someone who is looking for more information regarding his father and what he did in Burma during the second world war.

If anyone knows anything about the 60th field regiment, Rangoon Jail, the second Wingate expedition, or even Charles Benson Macdonald, it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Katie,

I have some information on Captain MacDonald and his time in Rangoon Jail. Are you a relative of his?

I have researched the jail for about 5 years now and picked up some documents from places such as the Imperial War Museum and the National Archives.

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I'm not a relative, but he was my friend's grandfather, and I'm helping her dad find some more information on him.

Her dad has actually gone to the National Archives at Kew today, so we're waiting to see what he finds. We currently have some information, but don't know much about what he actually did in Burma, so any information would be great.

Also, at which Imperial War museum have you managed to find information?

Can't wait to hear what you have on Captain Macdonald.

Thank you

Katie
