CITATION:
Mention In Despatches : During the attack on Mount Longdon, night 11/12 June, Lcpl Carver was a Section Commander in 5 Platoon B Company. Throughout the night his section was continually in contact with the enemy. During this period, several enemy positions, heavy weapons, and a number of Prisoners of War were captured by his section. High high standard of leadership, personal courage, and example were evident to all throughout the action, and his section's success was a direct result of this. Later in the night he was shot and badly wounded whilst point section Commander on the advance Eastwards on Mount Longdon. Again he continued to do all that he could to direct his section onwards, until he was persuaded to lie still in a sheltered position and await casevac.
