CITATION:

British Empire Medal : He has served for 18 months as Troop Sergt Major of B Troop. This Troop has been outstandingly successful in anti-terrorist operations in CYPRUS which has been largely due to the brilliant ability of QMS COLLINGWOOD who has throughout this time displayed remarkable enthusiasm and loyalty. By his personal leadership, physical courage and moral integrity set a magnificent example to the Troop. In all conditions of weather under extreme fatigue and difficulty he has been a tremendous inspiration and never lost his unfailing sense of humour. Apart from operations his admin capacity has never failed and he has worked long hours without loss of efficiency. His interest in the men and their welfare has been outstanding and he has had a splendid influence on them all. He has taken an active part in all Troops sport and entertainment and has contributed very largely to achieving a very high morale.
