CITATION:
Mention In Despatches : In the early hours of Saturday 12 June 1982, the 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, were ordered to attack enemy positions on the Mount Longdon feature eight kilometers to the West of Port Stanley on the Island of East Falkland.
During the assault Private CONNERY was in the leading section when his company came under fire from an enemy emplacement only 30 meters away. Supporting fire to neutralise the enemy's position was called for. Immediately after, Private CONNERY along with his Platoon Commander, charged the position killing several enemy in the process.
This brave action forced the enemy to withdraw from two further positions. Private CONNERY is very strongly recommended for Mention in Despatches.
