Romeo J. Hamel

In memory of my dear uncle Romeo...I have always felt a large hole in my heart having not had the opportunity to have met you. You were one of 9 brothers and 3 sisters in my dads family. My father was Sylvio and spoke of you with such pride. You gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom in America and overseas. I heard you were married shortly before your death, and feel so sad you were not able to enjoy life with your new wife and children you would have had. I had a number put in my head years ago on my wedding video...819, something my sister said when asked her age. For some reason I always thought of my sister when she lived in Germany whenever I saw the time of day was 8:19. I was told many years later by that same sister who finally got in touch w/a couple of men from your unit (4 or 5 yrs ago), that 8:19 was the exact time of when you were hit by the explosion. So, my dear Uncle Romeo, I will always think of you too (and actually have ever since I found this out), when I see 8:19 on the clock...
Love, your niece, Camille Hamel Hall
