His wife, Sheila, had Stanley cremated and kept his ashes in a custom-made glass case at their home in Wade, North Carolina. It was only after a trip to see ‘Faces of the Fallen' last summer, while walking thru Arlington National Cemetery that she knew that Arlington was where he needed to be. On April 13, 2006, the ashes of Stanley Harriman were interred in Arlington National Cemetery.​
