Nov. 4 Gazetted 2nd Lieut. Posted to RA Reception Centre Ascot.
1942. Jan. Training post at Islandmagee, Co. Antrim, N. Ireland.
March. Married local girl Rosemary Forbes.
1944 3 Oct. Joins the Commandoes. Hermitage Camp Wrexham, then to Spean Bridge for training.
1945 5 Feb. On leave at home in St. Leonards on Sea. Sent to the front. Parents see him off for the last time.
24 March No. 6 Commando cross R. Rhine to take Wesel. Missing presumed drowned.
He is buried in the Reichwald Forest War Cemetery near Kleve on the German Dutch border.
