CITATION:
Military Medal : Cpl. Kennedy operated behind the enemy lines from 13th October to 22nd December, 1942.
On 13th September 1942, he was a member of a party which attacked the fort at GASR GEHESC. During the attack his officers were wounded but the fort was captured.
On 26th October 1942, he was a member of the captured party which blew up the railway line near CAPUZZO.
On 7th November 1942, he was a member of the party which blew up the railway line near MERSA MATRUH.
On 17th December, 1942, he destroyed two ten ton lorries on the coast road at TAMET and blew a crater in the road.
On 20th December 1942, his party mined the TAMED HASSAN - HEL ZIDIN track.
On 21st December 1942, his party attacked a convoy, destroying three trucks, killing eleven Germans and capturing four. Cpl. Kennedy during these operations undertook the most dangerous tasks cheerfully and his uncomplaining devotion to duty throughout the operations was an example to the whole party.
