Hi all,

I am looking to find out more information about my grandfather, Lord John Manners. I see that he is on the ‘Roll of Honour’ and would love to know more!

He was a Lt. Captain in the SAS during WW2 but I don’t know much more than that other than a few stories passed down via my uncle.

To help with the search he was married to Mary Moore and was High Sheriff of Leicestershire.

Any information would be a god send! He was very quiet after the war and never liked to talk about it.

Hello, Did you know that Lord John Manners was on Operation Loyton in 1944 - so look up Loyton - he was with men like Harry Vickers who won the DCM and was wounded in Manners's company. he once shot up a French village mayor's car, but the man survived and sent him champaign in gratitude for the salute.
By the way, I taught some relatives of yours.
