The above date of death is inaccurate. My grandfather was hospitalized in England and passed on June 19, 1944, as a result of his wounds. Thank you for your kind attention. Mary Ellen Griffith

Hi Mary, thanks. I have amended your grandfather's record. Do you know cemetery in New York he was buried as i am unable to locate it? Also would you have photograph of him that i could add to his record?

Good Morning, thinking of my grandfather this Memorial Day. I do believe my aunt gave me a a photo of him. I will try to find it. My grandmother remarried after he passed, so there wasn’t much left. I believe he is buried in the in Long Island National Cemetery. I will try to get that info for you too. I only recently learned that he was buried in New York. For years I believed he was buried in England. But I recently on earth, a telegram to my grandmother stating that they were flying his body back to the States. Thanks so much for getting back to me.

Thanks for update. I can see on the U.S., Rosters of World War II Dead, 1939-1945 he was buried New York. Normally for Long Island there is record card too, but i cannot find any further details. Photograph would be great too.
