I have been researching men of Clitheroe WW2. I cannot understand why Simon does not have " attd. to Special Air Service " on his headstone. On CWGC own site, under the Concentration option below his details , it states clearly that he was "1 S.A.S." - as was stated for the other men being re-interred with him on 17-5-1944 nd whose headstones bear the inscription.
