Iam looking for information about Sverre Skoglund who was stationed in the Highlands or in Dumbarton during the war.Iam trying to find out if he received a medal for bravery - may be to do with Murmansk
 
plenty of SOE books about. mainly written by MRD foot. might want to have a look on amazon. plus if he was in the British army he will have a record
 
Thanks for info re amazon. Sverre was in the Norwegian Army and there appears to be very little info arouund on the internet which is specific to troops who were decorated. apparently he received medal from King Haakon in Edinburgh. Could be wrong 95 year old memories not always accurate.

you could try the book commando country. its about all the places the commandos trained up in scotland. you might find a cross over with SOE in there. my grandfather trained up there and he was SAS so you might find something.
