My father was in the Middle East Commandos, was attached to the LRDG and took part in the Tobruk raid where he was captured. He wrote a book for the family, which was published with limited editions, to help raise money for the school in which he taught. Is his story of interest to anyone?
 
I received a copy from Graham.What an excellent memorial to be passed on to his future generations.
Some very rare photos some of which will appear shortly on this website.Graham's father William Dallas Allardice served with 1 Bn London Scottish,No 5 Indep.Commando,2 Commando,Middle East Commando,1st Special Service Regiment which was attached to the LRDG for training for the Tobruk raid during which he was taken prisoner.He escaped from prison in Italy and I believe he was attached to SOE at that time.
A fascinating read of nearly 350 pages.
